I have a 2006 GT3200 with only 49 hours of use. It’s equipped with a 60-inch deck, and the belts I install keep snapping. All the spindles and pulleys look fine, and the belt tensioner moves as it should. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Even a small misalignment of the pulleys can put extra stress on the belt, causing constant abrasion and frequent breakage on large mower decks. If the pulleys are worn and need to be replaced, you can find replacement parts at udcparts.com to help prevent new belts from wearing out too quickly. This can be especially important with wide 60 inch decks, where the belt operates under high tension. Along with checking the pulleys, I would also inspect the bearings for any signs of wear.
