Why We Carry Ross Fly Reels

Ross Reels has been building fly reels in the USA for over 50 years — and they've never moved production offshore, never cut corners, and never stopped innovating. Every Ross reel is designed, machined, and assembled in Montrose, Colorado, just miles from the Gunnison River and the Black Canyon. That kind of commitment to American craftsmanship and proximity to world-class water isn't marketing copy — it's the foundation of everything they build. We carry Ross because when a customer picks up one of their reels, they can feel the difference. These are precision tools built to last a lifetime, backed by a warranty that means it. Ross Fly Reel Series
Ross Colorado Fly Reel
Named for the state where it's built, the Colorado is Ross's versatile freshwater reel — a clean, precise large-arbor design that handles everything from small stream trout to bigger water applications. Smooth drag, solid construction, and that unmistakable Ross fit and finish. Also available in limited edition Trout Unlimited collaboration colorways celebrating iconic Colorado cutthroat species.
Ross Animas Fly Reel
Named after the Animas River in southwest Colorado, the Animas is Ross's mid-range freshwater workhorse — built for anglers who want serious performance at an approachable price point. A reliable drag system, large-arbor design, and durable construction make it a natural choice for PNW trout and steelhead fishing. Available in limited edition Trout Unlimited and artist collaboration editions.
Ross Evolution LTX Fly Reel
The Evolution LTX is Ross's premium large-arbor freshwater reel — lightweight, fast-retrieving, and built with the kind of precision you'd expect from a reel machined in a world-class Colorado facility. A top-shelf choice for anglers who want the best Ross has to offer for freshwater applications.
Ross Evolution FS Fly Reel
The Evolution FS (Full Sealed) bridges the gap between freshwater performance and saltwater durability. A fully sealed drag system keeps the internals protected from sand, grit, and moisture — making it a strong choice for anglers who fish both environments or want the added protection of a sealed system on demanding freshwater water like PNW steelhead rivers.
Ross Evolution R Salt Fly Reel
Built for the salt. The Evolution R Salt is Ross's dedicated saltwater reel — fully sealed, corrosion-resistant, and engineered to handle the power of big saltwater species without flinching. When you're chasing bonefish, permit, or anything else that runs hard and fast, the R Salt is built for the fight.
