Sage Fly Reels

Why We Carry Sage Fly Reels

Sage has been building fly rods and reels on Bainbridge Island, Washington, since 1980 — right here in the Pacific Northwest, on the same island where they started with six employees and 1,500 square feet. Today, they've grown to 175 employees in a 30,000-square-foot facility, but the ethos has never changed: Perfecting Performance. Sage pioneered the use of carbon in drag systems — a far superior material that is durable, consistent, lightweight, and reliable — and their reels continue to set the standard for precise drag control and thoughtful engineering. The same "form follows function" philosophy that drives their rod design drives every reel they build. We carry Sage reels because they represent the pinnacle of American fly fishing craftsmanship, built right here in our backyard. Learn more about why we carry Sage →
Sage Fly Reel Series
Sage Spectrum Fly Reel
The Spectrum is Sage's versatile mid-range large-arbor reel — smooth, reliable, and built for the full range of freshwater applications. A carbon drag system delivers consistent stopping power from the first run to the last, and the large-arbor design means fast line pickup when a fish turns and charges. A natural pairing for the R8 and Sonic rod series.
Sage Spectrum LT Fly Reel
The Spectrum LT (Lightweight) takes everything that makes the Spectrum great and strips away every unnecessary gram. Built for anglers who prioritize balance and feel on lighter line weights, the LT is a precision tool for technical trout fishing on PNW streams and spring creeks.
Sage Spectrum C Fly Reel
The Spectrum C is Sage's fully sealed large-arbor reel — built for anglers who demand the smooth carbon drag performance of the Spectrum series with the added protection of a sealed system for saltwater and demanding freshwater use. A strong choice for steelhead, salmon, and crossover saltwater applications.
Sage Trout Series Fly Reel
Purpose-built for trout fishing, the Trout Series reel is lightweight, precise, and perfectly balanced for lighter line weights. A clean, no-nonsense design that pairs beautifully with Sage's freshwater rod lineup and delivers the kind of smooth, reliable performance that technical trout fishing demands.
Sage Click Series Fly Reel
A nod to the classic click-and-pawl reels that defined fly fishing for generations. The Click Series delivers that satisfying, old-school sound and feel with Sage's characteristic fit and finish. A natural match for fiberglass and slower-action rods, or any angler who appreciates the heritage of the sport.
Sage ESN Stealth Fly Reel
Designed specifically for Euro nymphing, the ESN Stealth is built to complement Sage's ESN rod series. Lightweight, precise, and engineered to stay out of the way during the tight-line techniques that euro nymphing demands — one of the most thoughtful purpose-built nymphing reels on the market.
Sage Spey II Fly Reel
Built for two-handed fishing, the Spey II delivers the backing capacity and drag performance that Spey and switch fishing demands. A purpose-built tool for steelhead and salmon on big PNW rivers — the kind of water Sage has been designing for since the beginning.
Sage Trout Spey Series Fly Reel
The Trout Spey Series reel is sized and balanced specifically for trout Spey applications — lighter line weights, smaller profiles, and the smooth drag performance you need when a wild trout makes a run on a tight-line Spey setup. A specialized tool for a growing style of fishing that's perfectly suited to PNW rivers.
